| Welcome to Kingsville Animal Clinic. Since 1985 Kingsville Animal Clinic has achieved & maintained “Hospital Status” with the College of Veterinarians of Ontario which is their highest accreditation rating. To achieve this status, substantial time and resources have been invested to establish a facility capable of delivering the highest standard of medical and surgical care for your pet. |
We are strongly committed to our community. We are involved in both the High School Co-op Program at KDHS & the Animal Health Externship Program at Saint Clair College. We welcome the opportunity to talk to school or other groups about animal health and/or an animal related career. We are very proud of our hospital facility and enjoy giving tours to Scout/Guide/4H or other community groups (usually after hours). |
| All of our professional staff: doctors, technicians, nurses & receptionists are committed to ongoing continuing education so that we may be able to deliver the very latest and best that veterinary science has to offer. |
Kingsville Animal Clinic was first established in 1977 by Dr Gordon Brown (in those days, as a satellite of Essex Animal Clinic). We have been at our current location since 1984. Through each successive renovation we have striven to keep our facility open, airy, bright and clean. |
| Our reception area features wide open spaces and plenty of seating for your comfort. We have a holding cage for wriggly cats and small dogs, and leash hooks on the reception desk that would hold even the most assertive sled dog. We have a few resources available to keep (human) youngsters amused should you wish. |
In our reception area we carry an extensive inventory of therapeutic diets |
| Dental supplies, Flea & tick supplies, grooming & supplements … And a small selection of high quality pet supplies. |
We take great pride in our outgoing, unhurried, friendly style of practice. We take great care over our medical records and have been “computerized” since 1995. |
| Just beyond our large “Info Center”, down the wide hallway that runs the length of the facility, are our two exam rooms. |
Each exam room is large with comfortable seating. Each exam table is movable to give extra space as/when needed. |
| Each exam room is well equipped and self-sufficient |
Next down the hallway is the pharmacy. |
| Our pharmacy is well stocked to immediately meet the needs of virtually any medical circumstance. |
The treatment area serves as the core “nerve-center” of our facility: with direct access to pharmacy, lab, intensive care unit, x-ray darkroom, surgical supply area, surgical theater, and wards (kennels) which can be seen in the background of this picture. |
| The operating theater is well equipped for general surgery, including orthopaedic repair of bone fractures. |
Over the last several years Dr Braithwaite has been working with the Massassauga Rattle Snake Recovery team, and a few other projects coordinated by Species-at-risk biologists from the Ministry of Natural Resources, Parks Canada (Point Pelee Complex), Ojibway Nature Center & the University of Guelph. Here he is shown surgically implanting a radio transmitter into “Jake” a male massassauga rattlesnake, assisted by Karen Cedar from the Ojibway Nature Center. |
| Drs. Braithwaite & Brisbin were two of the founding members of Erie Wildlife Rescue & Wings and are still actively involved in wild animal rescue and rehabilitation. |
| Here Dr. Braithwaite is operating on a dog’s knee to “repair” his ruptured anterior cruciate ligament. |
Our intensive care unit features both small and large (built in) incubators and life support systems including oxygen therapy. |
| Our “in house” lab is well equipped to analyze most medical samples including routine blood counts, serum chemistry, urine and fecal analyses, as well as heartworm and feline viral screens, mycology and basic cytology. |
Our wards include a variety of kennels from small cat cages (pictured here) to spacious indoor dog runs. We would be very happy to arrange a personal tour of our facilities for you or a group you work with (such as Scouts, Guides or 4H) – by appointment. |
